NORTHROP GRUMMAN ENGINEER WINS WOMAN OF COLOR AWARD - Shannon Nutt, a software engineer for the Integrated Systems sector, has been awarded a Women of Color Achievement Award from Career Communications Group (CCG). Nutt (center) accepted the award during the Women of Color Research Sciences and Technology Awards Conference Sept. 12-13 in Nashville, Tenn. Three other employees also received Women of Color awards from CCG this year.

B-2 Stealth Bomber

ENHANCED WEAPONS CAPABILITY FOR B-2 STEALTH BOMBER - B-2 stealth bomber prime contractor Northrop Grumman Corporation and the U.S. Air Force recently demonstrated the operation of a new smart bomb rack assembly that increases the bomber's capacity to deliver GPS-guided weapons by a factor of five. The new bomb rack allows the B-2 to release 80 independently targeted guided weapons against 80 separate targets.

WTC STEEL POUR - Three veteran employees of Amite Foundry open the ladle containing more than 20 tons of molten steel, from the World Trade Center. The steel will become the bow-stem of USS New York (LPD 21) named in honor of the victims and heroes of the September 11, 2001 tragedy.
