F-35 Joint Strike Fighter

Northrop Grumman Begins Assembly of F-35 Joint Strike Fighter - Northrop Grumman Corporation has reached a major milestone on the F-35 program by starting production of the aircraft's center fuselage. The company is producing more than 25% of the weapon system for F-35 prime contractor Lockheed Martin. Northrop Grumman employees at the company's Antelope Valley Manufacturing Center start the production process by installing the F-35 engine's left forward air inlet duct into an assembly fixture.

Fast Response Cutter (FRC)

This is an artist's rendition of the Deepwater Program's Fast Response Cutter (FRC) design concept. Upon approval by the U.S. Coast Guard, this ship will be the first in a series of 150-foot fast patrol vessels that will eventually replace the service's aging fleet of Island Class boats. A partnership has been established with Northrop Grumman's Ship Systems sector and Kockums AB and its parent company, Howaldtswerke Deutsche Werft AG (HDW) to include cooperative work in the design and construction of this composite lead ship technology demonstrator.

Work performed during the PSA included the addition of a third physical fitness center for sailors. The new facility is the about four times larger than the Reagan's two other fitness centers.

First Operational B-2

Northrop Grumman Applies New Coating to B-2 stealth bomber -- Northrop Grumman has successfully applied a specially formulated coating developed to help improve the B-2 stealth bombers combat readiness to an operational aircraft for the first time. The company applied the coating using a robotic paint system to the B-2 shown in photo at Northrop Grummans Antelope Valley Manufacturing Center, Palmdale, Calif.

Northrop Grumman Breaks Ground on Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Production Facility --Northrop Grumman Corporation broke ground April 13 on a facility at Trent Lott International Airport, Moss Point, Miss., that will be used to produce Fire Scout vertical takeoff and landing tactical unmanned aerial vehicles for the U.S. Navy. Taking part in the ceremony were Northrop Grumman's chairman, chief executive officer and president, Dr. Ronald D. Sugar (7th from left) U.S. Sen. Trent Lott (R-MS) (8th from left) and representatives from Northrop Grumman, the Jackson County Board of Supervisors and Jackson County Economic Development Foundation.
