SAN DIEGO, Jan. 12, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Frank Flores, a Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) vice president, has been selected by the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) for its SHPE Technical Achievement Recognition (STAR) Corporate Achievement Award. Presented annually, the national award honors significant scientific, technical and engineering accomplishments.

Flores is the vice president of engineering, logistics, and technology for the company's Integrated Systems sector Western Region (ISWR). In this job, he manages and deploys people, processes, tools and test resources that support ISWR programs that include the F-35 Lightning II, the F/A-18, the B-2 stealth bomber, Global Hawk unmanned air system (UAS), Fire Scout UAS, Navy Unmanned Combat Air System and a targets program.

Flores will be honored at the SHPE Mile High Gala Banquet on Jan. 12. The awards banquet is part of the SHPE National Technical and Career Conference.

Since joining Northrop Grumman in 1978, Flores' career has spanned a range of roles from functional management to business development to program management. Much of his work has contributed to the successful development of satellite communications systems, avionics communications systems for advanced fighters and terrestrial radio systems. Flores earned both bachelor and master of science degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California.
