Company dedicates fifth home in Baltimore City

BALTIMORE – June 18, 2014 – Continuing a partnership of building a community one home at a time, Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) and Sandtown Habitat for Humanity dedicated a new home for the family of Kimberly Robinson.

During a May 17 dedication ceremony and open house, Kay Rand, vice president of mission assurance for Northrop Grumman's Electronic Systems sector, along with project leads Rob Siegel and Kurt Van Ryzin, presented Robinson with the keys to her new home.

"Today is a great day for the Sandtown community and for the Robinson family," said Rand. "We are fortunate to have so many dedicated employees that gave of their personal time to make today possible. I give special thanks to Sandtown Habitat for Humanity for their great work in this community."

More than 100 Northrop Grumman employees, their families and friends volunteered more than 1,400 hours during the past year working with Sandtown Habitat for Humanity. The home marks the fifth completed house sponsored by Northrop Grumman in the Sandtown-Winchester community. During the past seven years, Northrop Grumman volunteers have dedicated many thousands of hours and the company has provided more than $230,000 in financial support to Sandtown Habitat for Humanity.

"Our mission is to improve the overall health of our community by increasing homeownership and eliminating all of the vacant and abandoned houses in Sandtown," said LaVerne Stokes, co-executive director, Sandtown Habitat for Humanity. "Northrop Grumman, we appreciate you. What you did here is not just building a house for Kimberly and her family, it's improving the quality of life in Sandtown."

Under the guidance of Sandtown Habitat for Humanity, volunteers from Northrop Grumman and the families and friends of the future homeowner worked on a variety of construction activities including wood framing, roofing, drywall, flooring and painting, to complete the home.
