LINTHICUM, Md., Feb. 9, 2010 -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has announced the appointment of David Reith as vice president of finance and controller for the company's Electronic Systems sector, effective immediately.
In his new position, Reith will provide controller oversight for the sector and will be responsible for all sector financial functions, including estimating and pricing, rates and budgets, government liaison, financial accounting and reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, program planning and financial control, financial planning, and financial modeling.
Reith joined the company at Baltimore in 1987 in the business management organization and has held a number of management and executive-level positions at Electronic Systems and other Northrop Grumman sectors. In 2001, he was appointed business manager for the communications systems business and one year later was promoted to sector controller for the company's Newport News Shipbuilding sector.
In 2008, Reith was appointed vice president and controller for the Technical Services sector. He most recently served as business operations director and chief financial officer for National Security Technologies LLC, a joint venture led by Northrop Grumman's Technical Services sector, which was created to operate the Nevada Test Site for the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration.
Reith earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Western Maryland College (McDaniel College).
