ARLINGTON, Va., April 17, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has appointed Chineta K. Davis vice president of corporate business development, reporting to Robert W. Helm, Northrop Grumman corporate vice president of business development and government relations. The appointment is effective May 1, 2006.

In this position, Davis will manage the corporate business development organization that is responsible for business development planning and processes across the corporation. She replaces David W. Zolet who, in March 2006, was named sector vice president and president, Defense Group, of the company's Information Technology sector. Davis will be located in Northrop Grumman's Washington, D.C. office.

"The corporate business development organization is making excellent progress in identifying, developing and implementing processes that help Northrop Grumman move quickly and precisely to respond to our customers' requirements," said Helm. "Chineta's proven management skills and track record of managing successful operations and programs will add further strength to the corporate business development organization."

In her previous position, Davis served as vice president, Multi-role Electronically Scanned Array (MESA) programs for the company's Electronic Systems sector in Linthicum, Md. Previously, she was vice president of the sector's Norden Systems business unit in Norwalk, Conn.; the corporation's center of excellence for surveillance and ground moving target indication, imaging and tracking, as well as manufacturer of radar transmitters, transformers, magnetics and antennas.

Davis joined Northrop Grumman in 1976 and has held a variety of professional and management positions of increasing responsibility in operations and programs. In 1999, she was appointed director, integrated enterprise visibility, and served in various director-level positions including program quality assurance, production transition, and strategic sourcing.

Davis earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and has completed the Executive Marketing Program at UCLA and the General Manager's Program at Harvard University.
