WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., Dec. 16, 2009 -- Employee volunteers from Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Navigation Systems Division recently delivered grocery certificates and presents to 40 disadvantaged families in the local community as part of the company's annual holiday outreach efforts.

Thirty of the families were nominated by Northrop Grumman employees. Ten families were nominated by El Centro de Amistad, Inc., a non-profit social services agency in Canoga Park, Calif., which supports the needs of low-income residents of the San Fernando Valley. Northrop Grumman's Adopt-A-Family organization, which coordinated the outreach effort, also donated 50 presents to the West Valley Boys & Girls Club.

Northrop Grumman's Adopt-A-Family's mission is to help needy families in the San Fernando Valley. Almost 700 disadvantaged families have received gifts from volunteers over the 19 years that the company's Adopt-A-Family program has been in operation.

"Community outreach is an important part of our corporate culture at Northrop Grumman," said Jim Myers, sector vice president and general manager of Northrop Grumman's Navigation Systems Division. "The Adopt-A-Family organization is a perfect example of our commitment to being a good neighborhood partner."

Northrop Grumman's Adopt-A-Family organization holds events at the company's Woodland Hills facility throughout the year to raise funds and encourage employees to volunteer their time and talents in support of the charity appeal. Employees also participate in an annual toy drive, and donations are delivered during the Adopt-A-Family holiday gift distribution.

"Adopt-A-Family brings our people together to help meet the needs of our community," said Kati Fodor, chairman of Northrop Grumman's Adopt-A-Family program and a volunteer in this outreach organization for 19 years. "Adopt-A-Family allows our employees to reach out to needy families and help more than 130 children this year alone."
