MCLEAN, Va., Feb. 14, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has named Harry Greenspun, M.D., chief medical officer within the company's Information Technology (IT) sector.

Greenspun will provide strategic direction for Northrop Grumman's health solutions business and will serve as an adviser to the healthcare community, customers, partners, government agencies and health care organizations on issues of technology and health policy. His new role will increase Northrop Grumman's growing presence in the healthcare field.

Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Greenspun served as a consultant to hospitals and health systems, payors, pharmaceutical companies and the health IT industry. Early in his career, Greenspun founded a company to track the outcome of patients undergoing cardiac surgery. Greenspun earned a bachelor's degree from Harvard University and a M.D. from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. He completed his residency and fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he served as chief resident in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine.
