LINTHICUM, Md., March 19, 2009 -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has promoted Kevin M. Bittner to vice president of contracts for its Electronic Systems sector, effective immediately.

In his new position, Bittner will be responsible for all contractual functions and processes, including pre-marketing support, proposal preparation, negotiations, and post-award administration and contract closeouts at all Electronic Systems locations. In addition, he will be responsible for all associated contractual agreements including teaming agreements, joint ventures, manufacturing licensing agreements, technical assistance agreements and government property process oversight for the sector.

Bittner joined the company in 1989 and has held a number of management and executive positions over the years within the business management organization. Most recently, he served as director of contracts for the company's Government Systems Division.

Bittner earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He has also completed executive education course work at the Harvard University Business School.

He is an active member of the National Contracts Management Association, having served as president of the Greater Baltimore chapter since 2007.
