LINTHICUM, Md., March 23, 2009 -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has named Gloria A. Flach sector vice president and general manager of engineering, manufacturing and logistics for the company's Electronic Systems sector, effective immediately.

In her newly expanded position, Flach will have executive responsibility for engineering and manufacturing operations and processes and logistics support and services across the sector's many campuses - from product design and development, through production and delivery, including full product life-cycle support.

A 27-year veteran of Northrop Grumman, Flach began her career in the engineering organization and later became responsible for all software engineering resources and software engineering execution across the Electronic Systems sector's diverse program base.

In 2004, she was appointed vice president and chief information officer for the sector with responsibility for assuring clear and measurable alignment of the sector's IT investments with business outcome, providing IT strategic direction, and driving innovation and execution of IT solutions within the sector. Most recently, she had served as sector vice president and general manager of engineering and logistics.

She earned a bachelor's degree in computer science and a master's degree in business administration from Loyola College in Baltimore and was inducted into Loyola's Computer Science Hall of Fame for outstanding contributions in the field. She has also completed the Executive Marketing Program at the University of California, Los Angeles, and the General Manager's Program at Harvard University.

Flach currently serves on Loyola College's Information Systems and Operations Management Advisory Board and the Board of Trustees for Notre Dame Preparatory School, and also chairs the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education Strategic Steering Committee.
