DULLES, Va., June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Orbital Sciences Corporation (NYSE: ORB) announced today that Pamela J. Lupien has been named Senior Vice President of Human Resources. In this role, Ms. Lupien will be responsible for the overall management of the company's strategies, policies and activities for employee recruitment, retention and training programs, as well as overseeing compensation, benefits and retirement savings plans.

For the past two decades, Ms. Lupien has held senior human resources and administrative positions in a variety of industries including the information technology, transportation and chemical fields. She has an extensive background with multinational corporations with operations experience in the United States, Europe, Asia, Latin America and Canada.

Prior to joining Orbital, Ms. Lupien served as a vice president for James Martin & Company in Fairfax, Virginia, an international management consulting firm, where she developed a global human resources support capability and created the company's first strategic human resources plan. From 1992 to 1998, she held human resources management positions and worked on special assignments for BetzDearborn, Inc, now a division of Hercules Incorporated and the world's preeminent supplier of advanced chemical treatment programs for water, wastewater and process systems. Earlier in her career, she held human resources positions with IBM Corporation and Fruehauf Trailer Corporation.

Ms. Lupien received her B.S. degree in social sciences from the University of South Florida, Tampa, and her MBA, with a concentration in economics, from Jacksonville University. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Northern Virginia Technology Council Human Resources Advisory Board.
