FALLS CHURCH, Va. –April 3, 2017 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) employee April Fowles received the Outstanding Woman in Technology award at the 43rd annual National Society of Black Engineer’s (NSBE) conference held this weekend in Kansas City.

The NSBE’s Outstanding Woman in Technology award recognizes individuals with a career of exceptional accomplishments in an engineering or technical field, leadership abilities, demonstrated support for increasing the number of women in engineering and technology, and a high level of achievement in technology.
Fowles, the supplier manufacturing engineering manager for Military Aircraft Systems, Northrop Grumman, provides technical support and coordination with procurement and subcontractors. She has more than 12 years of experience in fabrication, liaison and assembly manufacturing engineering in support of various aircraft programs. Fowles mentors other engineers, participates in recruiting and hiring and speaks to teens about her engineering experience to encourage them to pursue science, technology, engineering and mathematics opportunities. She earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from the University of Southern California.
