HERNDON, Va., Feb. 17, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE: NOC) Information Technology (IT) sector has been awarded a contract to help implement and modernize several Department of Defense health systems as part of the Defense Medical Information Systems/Systems Integration, Design, Development, Operations and Maintenance Services III (D/SIDDOMS III) program.

As part of the D/SIDDOMS III indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract, Northrop Grumman IT, along with other companies, will bid on individual task orders to provide systems integration, design, development, operations, and maintenance services for the Military Health System, TRICARE Management Activity, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. The terms of the ID/IQ contract is one base year plus nine one-year options, with an overall value to all contractors estimated at approximately $8 billion over 10 years.
