FALLS CHURCH, Va. – April 1, 2014 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) will highlight new ways to reduce costs and improve the performance of current and future U.S. Navy systems during media briefings planned for the Navy League's 2014 Sea-Air-Space Exposition. The annual event will be held April 7-9 at the Gaylord National Resort and Conference Center, National Harbor, Md.
The briefings will reinforce Northrop Grumman's leadership position in unmanned, cyber, C4ISR, and logistics and modernization, along with how the company supports the Navy's evolving requirements with innovative and affordable systems.
Northrop Grumman's presence at Sea-Air-Space will also feature a full-scale model of the X-47B Unmanned Combat Air System (UCAS), a tailless, strike fighter-sized unmanned aircraft developed by the company for the Navy's UCAS program. In 2013, the X-47B successfully completed the first carrier-based launch and recovery by an unmanned, tailless aircraft. The successful UCAS flight test program is setting the stage for the development of a more permanent, carrier-based fleet of unmanned aircraft.
Northrop Grumman will also use social media before, during and after the exposition to share unique, interactive content that highlights the company's long and successful partnership with the Navy. The conversation will occur on facebook.com/NorthropGrumman and @northropgrumman from March 31 to April 25.
Details about the media briefings will be posted in the company's online media kit: http://www.northropgrumman.com/MediaResources/MediaKits/SeaAirSpace
