MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 12, 2011 -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has been awarded a follow-on contract from the U.S. Navy for the deployment, enhancement, operation and maintenance services in support of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service Law Enforcement Information Exchange System (LInX). LInX breaks down jurisdictional and technical barriers to improve data sharing across municipal, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies.

The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract is valued at more than $32 million to Northrop Grumman's Information Systems sector over one base year and three option years, should all options be exercised, beginning in October.

Northrop Grumman was awarded the first LInX contract in 2004 to develop the law enforcement information sharing system for police officers and criminal investigators in the states of Washington and Virginia and then a follow-on contract in 2007. LInX has since expanded to more than 800 law enforcement partner agencies in eleven regional locations around the United States.

"LInX provides law enforcement with the crime and incident data they require when they need it, regardless of where it originated," said Ed Sturms, Northrop Grumman's vice president for civil cyber and security. "This program highlights Northrop Grumman's integration and interoperability expertise, helping to solve crimes and resolve suspicious events more quickly."

Under the terms of the current contract, Northrop Grumman will deploy, operate and maintain the LInX system at existing and new law enforcement agencies across the country. Work will include consolidation, data conversion and integration, as well as software and interface development.

LInX provides comprehensive, proven and certified U.S. Department of Defense-level security capabilities and features, which are capable of addressing sensitive and mission-critical homeland security and law enforcement intelligence needs across jurisdictions. LInX finds hidden associations and connections within existing law enforcement records sources.

Work on the contract will be performed in Chantilly and Quantico, Va. Northrop Grumman's teammate on the contract is Elluminates Software Corporation, Chantilly, Va.
