HUNTSVILLE, Ala., March 3, 2010 -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) will host a small business industry day Thursday, March 11, 2010, in Huntsville seeking to complement its core team for the U.S. Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) competition for the Development and Sustainment Contract.

Companies interested in meeting with key Northrop Grumman representatives in procurement, management and technical personnel during one-on-one sessions should register as a small business for the GMD contract competition by visiting http://www.as.northropgrumman.com/products/gmd/index.html and clicking on "Become a GMD DSC Supplier."

Northrop Grumman announced in January that it will enter the GMD competition as a prime contractor, citing its ability to leverage extensive experience and best practices from missile-related programs. The MDA kicked-off the competition last month with a draft Request for Proposals that sought industry's input.

"Northrop Grumman has built strong relationships with its small business partners, and we value the important role they play in providing advanced technology solutions and capabilities to our customers," said John Clay, vice president of Missile Systems for Northrop Grumman's Aerospace Systems sector. "The success of small business owners is an essential part of our business operations, and is vital to our nation's economic growth and prosperity. Northrop Grumman takes the Department of Defense's small business contracting goals very seriously and will do all in our power to help the Defense Department meet and exceed its goals."

Northrop Grumman is a primary supplier of technologically advanced missile and missile defense weapon systems, including the ICBM Prime Integration Contract, MDA's Space Tracking and Surveillance Demonstration program, and the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center, Colorado Springs, Colo.
