MCLEAN, Va., March 9, 2012 -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) announced that its Law Enforcement Information Exchange System (LInX) crime and incident reporting system received the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce Public Safety Corporate Vital Link award at a ceremony today in Rockville, Md. The innovative technology, which was integrated with an automated biometric identification system, was recognized for its ability to enable public safety personnel to integrate disparate systems and create an easily accessible archive to update and mine data.
The award was presented at the 38 th Annual Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce Public Safety Awards Luncheon which recognizes the acts of valor and service of our dedicated public safety personnel, according to the chamber.

LInX breaks down jurisdictional and technical barriers to improve data sharing across municipal, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies. It provides comprehensive, proven and certified U.S. Department of Defense-level security capabilities and features, which are capable of addressing sensitive and mission-critical homeland security and law enforcement intelligence needs across jurisdictions. LInX helps find hidden associations and connections within existing law enforcement records sources.
Northrop Grumman was awarded the first LInX contract in 2004 to develop the law enforcement information sharing system for police officers and criminal investigators in the states of Washington and Virginia. The company received a follow-on contract in 2007, and an additional LInX contract last year. Since its inception, the program has expanded to almost 900 law enforcement partner agencies in 11 regional locations around the United States.
