MCLEAN, Va., Aug. 18, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) was awarded a task order under the Network Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) program to integrate the U.S. Air Force's telephone and network operations, which will equip the Air Force with an enterprise-wide system for managing telecommunications.

Northrop Grumman's Information Technology (IT) sector will provide commercial-off-the-shelf hardware and software to establish a telecommunications-management system for more than 100 Air Force locations worldwide. The system will consolidate the Air Force's multiple voice-network systems and migrate the data from these systems into one centralized, expandable and automated computer-based management system.

The company will also provide user training, enabling the Air Force to manage system administration, such as additions, changes and analysis; and maintenance, including help desk, testing and troubleshooting.

The task order is valued at approximately $19 million through December 2006.

The Air Force NETCENTS program is a five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract to provide IT products and services. Northrop Grumman was awarded the NETCENTS contract in September 2004.
