HERNDON, Va., Nov. 29, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- The U.S. Air Force has awarded Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) the first unrestricted competitive solicitation task order under the Network Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) program for technical support for computer hardware and software updates and upgrades.

Northrop Grumman's Information Technology (IT) sector will provide SMARTnet(R) services, a comprehensive maintenance plan for Cisco hardware and software. It provides access to a wide array of maintenance services that facilitate rapid problem diagnosis and resolution to ensure the highest possible network availability.

The task order is valued at approximately $1 million over five years.

The Air Force NETCENTS program is a five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract to provide information technology products and services.

Northrop Grumman's overall NETCENTS team includes 10 large business partners and 24 small-business partners.
