HERNDON, Va., Oct. 27, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) announced today it has submitted a bid to the Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE-NNSA) to lead the management and operations at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) in Livermore, Calif.

Northrop Grumman is the majority member of Advanced Science and Engineering Technologies, LLC (ASET), a joint venture formed by leaders in the federal contracting industry to pursue the LLNL contract. Member firms include AECOM Government Services Inc., CH2M Hill Constructors, Inc., Wackenhut Services, Inc. and Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc.

Team members were selected for their experience in supporting the Department of Energy and other federal clients in technology development, environmental management and national security. The group has worked throughout the past year to craft an innovative proposal for providing NNSA with realistic solutions for meeting the laboratory's critical work requirements today and well into the future.
