LONDON -- April 14, 2015 -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has announced the opening of its new cyber facility in Gloucestershire dedicated to delivering innovative advanced cyber solutions to customers in the U.K. and other locations in Europe.
The new facility will accommodate the company's growing cyber workforce of nearly 100 employees, with room for future expansion, and will provide a state-of-the-art collaborative environment for demonstrating and developing advanced cyber technology solutions. The focus will be on developing capabilities in big data and smart data analytics, network defence, secure mobility, biometrics, high speed processing and full spectrum cyber. Part of the facility will include the company's Advanced Cyber Technology Centre , a global collaboration initiative announced in November 2014 to advance high-end cyber solutions.
"We are committed to continuing to build a sovereign U.K. cyber workforce that is able to deliver innovations to help protect our customers against the increasingly sophisticated cyber threat environment," said Kathy Warden, corporate vice president and president, Northrop Grumman Information Systems. "We look forward to expanding our presence in the cyber domain and furthering our partnerships across the U.K. as we collectively work to ensure a more connected and secure world."
"This new facility represents an important resource for Northrop Grumman and our cyber customers in the U.K. and significantly enhances the range of U.K.-based expertise and capabilities that we can offer," said Andrew Tyler, chief executive, Northrop Grumman Europe. "It will enable industry, customers, partners and academia to collaborate in one location to help solve some of the challenges of today's complex and highly dynamic threat environment."
Critical to addressing the cyber threat is building a trained workforce.
