SAN DIEGO, Sept. 27, 2012 -- In an ongoing effort to provide support to active service members, veterans and their families, employees at Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) donated a variety of school supplies to benefit children from military families. Supplies were delivered to Operation Homefront Southern California's San Diego headquarters on Aug. 30.

Operation Homefront Southern California's Back to School Brigade program serves more than 3,500 children of military servicemen and women throughout the Southern California region. The requested donations are for items schools do not provide, such as backpacks, pencil cases, pencils, pens, folders and binders. The school supplies are distributed at events held for the families. In addition to providing donations, employees volunteered at a Back to School Brigade event in early August.

"As a corporation, we continue to support local organizations that are dedicated to providing invaluable services to the armed forces," said Jim Zortman, sector vice president and site executive, Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems. "Our military men and women regularly sacrifice for our country and it is our privilege to provide support to the organizations they rely upon."

Since 2002, Operation Homefront has met the needs of more than 400,000 families and individuals nationwide and invested $128 million in programs to support them. Much like the military, the organization has a "no man left behind" attitude to help every possible family and wounded warrior who sacrifices for the freedoms Americans enjoy.
