NEWPORT NEWS, Va., PASCAGOULA, Miss., and AVONDALE, La., Nov. 29, 2010 -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Shipbuilding sector has raised over $2.4 million for the 2011 United Way campaign.

"Our shipbuilders are committed to making stronger and better communities," said Bill Ermatinger, sector vice president of human resources and administration. "As the largest manufacturing employer in the states of Mississippi, Louisiana and Virginia, we have an obligation to help those in need and serve our community."

The 2010-2011 campaign was held from September through October with a goal to collect $2.2 million across the sector. Employees who donated were able to direct their contributions to organizations in their states such as the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America, the YMCA and the Salvation Army.
