HERNDON, Va., Jan. 26, 2009 -- The U.S. Department of the Interior has awarded Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) a contract to maintain and support the information technology (IT) infrastructure for the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) 200 offices and more than 12,500 employees across the United States.
The contract has an estimated value of $56 million based upon a full performance of all anticipated task orders for the one base year and six one-year extensions.
Northrop Grumman is the prime contractor with subcontractors Isys Technologies, Arlington, Va; NuAxis, Vienna, Va.; Mindbank Technical, Reston, Va.; Applied Future Technologies, Wheat Ridge, Colo.; and Managed Business Solutions, Colorado Springs, Colo.
"This demonstrates Northrop Grumman's growing capability and experience in the IT infrastructure market," said Neal Regan, Northrop Grumman Technical Services' Program Manager for the contract. "By providing our customers with comprehensive, quality control and phase-in plans, we are able to give them low-risk capabilities along with cost-effective performance."
