HERNDON, Va., June 1, 2011 -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has appointed Timothy Harrington, vice president and controller of its Technical Services sector headquartered in Herndon, Va., effective June 4.

Harrington will oversee sector financial operations including financial planning and reporting, estimating rates and pricing, regulatory compliance, accounting, and will ensure compliance with internal control practices and company policies and procedures.

"Tim brings a rich wealth of financial acumen and practical program and operation experience to the sector. He will be a tremendous leader and key contributor as we continue to grow and expand our operations both in the United States and around the world," said Dave Harvey, sector vice president of business management and chief financial officer for Northrop Grumman's Technical Services sector.

Harrington has served in financial, operational and project management positions with Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems since 1981. Most recently, he served as director, business manager postal, international trade and treasury where he was responsible for the sector's postal automation systems and European operations including the treasury and international trade functions. He had previously served as business manager for the sector's strategic operations function as well as key lines of business such as air traffic management and communication systems (C4ISR).

Harrington earned a bachelor's in business administration from Towson University.
