EL SEGUNDO, Calif., March 8, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- (WITH PHOTO) Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Integrated Systems sector has announced the appointment of Corey S. Moore as vice president and manager of F/A-18 programs, effective immediately.
He succeeds Steven R. Briggs, who was named vice president and deputy of the sector's Air Combat Systems business area in November 2001.
Moore, 44, directs Northrop Grumman's activities on the F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet programs. As principal subcontractor to The Boeing Company, Northrop Grumman produces the center and aft fuselage sections and twin vertical tails and integrates all associated subsystems for the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet. In addition, the company provides support for the earlier F/A-18A/B/C/D models.
Moore joined Northrop Grumman in 1987 as an operational research specialist in advanced design after eight years of active duty as an aviator in the U.S. Navy. In 1991, he was appointed director, Business Development, on the F/A-18 program. He was promoted in 1996 to manager, F/A-18 International Programs, and later assumed responsibility for the F/A-18A/B/C/D. In February 2001, he was appointed deputy program manager for all F/A-18 programs.
In addition to his experience on the Hornet and Super Hornet programs with Northrop Grumman, Moore amassed more than 2,800 flight hours in carrier-based tactical aircraft, most of them in the F/A-18, during his career as an active duty and reserve naval officer. He retired from the Navy Reserve in 2000 with the rank of captain. He holds a B.S. in business/economics from UCLA.
