HERNDON, Va., Nov. 28, 2006 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- The U.S. Army has selected Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC) to provide logistics support services for the Field and Installation Readiness Support Team (FIRST) program.

Northrop Grumman is one of 15 companies awarded an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract by the U.S. Army's Southern Region Contracting Center. The contracts have a potential value of more than $9 billion, collectively. The period of the contract is five years, with two one-year options.

Northrop Grumman will provide logistics support including program management and operations, information technology, transportation and supply, field and depot repairs, and Army command-wide enterprise systems program support. The work will be conducted worldwide in support of Army task order requirements.
