MCLEAN, Va., April 20, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) will lead a team selected by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to provide systems support, security and business services for the U.S. Department of the Treasury and other federal agencies.

The Total Information Processing Support Services-3 (TIPSS-3) contracts will help improve information technology (IT) management and operations for the Treasury Department. Northrop Grumman is one of 21 companies awarded an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract. These TIPSS-3 contracts are funded at a maximum of $3 billion, collectively. The period of the contracts is one year with four one-year options.

Northrop Grumman's IT sector and its team will provide IT support in all three TIPSS-3 service areas: information system services, strategic business services and system security services. Work within these areas includes:

  -- Software, security, training and quality assurance support
 -- Feasibility studies and tools for managing, tracking and
    reporting on implementation of large-scale systems
 -- Security of data residing in computer files or during
    transmission, and assessing IT risks relating to privacy, fraud
    and abuse.

Among its requirements, TIPSS-3 aims to provide IT services that:

 -- Craft new applications and introduce new technologies as they
 -- Provide assistance in configuring and managing computer hardware,
    software, and networks
 -- Give expert assistance in configuring and managing computer
    hardware, software, and networks, in training customers, and in
    improving systems and network security
 -- Fulfill requirements on short notice for rapid solutions.

Northrop Grumman's IT sector will lead a team consisting of LGB & Associates, Fairfax, Va.; British Aerospace Engineering Services, Rockville, Md.; Enterprise Information Services, Vienna, Va.; MilVets Systems Technology, Lanham, Md.; Mir Mitchell & Company, Irving, Texas; Network Research Inc., Charlotte, N.C.; The M Group, Chandler, Ariz.; NikSoft, Herndon, Va.; and Sapient, Arlington, Va.

Work on the contract will be done in Falls Church, Va., Reston, Va., Lanham, Md., Detroit, Mich., Martinsburg, W.V., Dallas, Texas and Washington, D.C.
