WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., June 5, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- California Microwave Systems (CMS), a Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) company, has introduced a new Defense Messaging System (DMS) product called Decision Agent designed to support enterprise DMS messaging for U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) applications.

DMS enables the collection of all DoD messaging hardware, software and procedures into a system organized to meet all DoD messaging requirements, while employing internationally recognized, modern messaging technologies, such as cross domain auditing.

All personnel within the DoD and other government agencies that rely on DoD Legacy Messaging Systems to pass their message traffic will ultimately use the DMS messaging backbone.

"Decision Agent integrates all of CMS' communications products onto a single platform, operating on a common operating system, to provide the customer with a more robust DMS package at a reasonable cost," said Glenn Simon, director-Communications Programs for California Microwave Systems in Woodland Hills.

"The Decision Agent consists of our Communications Gateway System, Multi-functional Interpreter, Multi-thread Security Protocol, send and receive proxies and Web-based message preparation system. These have been integrated with Logicon Inc.'s MailRoom technology, the most powerful profiling engine on the market today. This enables Northrop Grumman to meet the DoD's requirement for DMS functionality on a single platform with a cost-effective solution," Mr. Simon added. The Decision Agent product may also include a Mail Agent List and other protocols that are unique to individual customers.

California Microwave Systems expects to field its first Decision Agents with DoD customers in the Washington, D.C., area later this summer.
