On the evening of June 9, the NASA/JPL Dawn Program Team acccepted the 2015 Robert J. Collier Trophy at a presentation ceremony in Arlington, Virginia. The award was given to the Dawn team "In recognition of the extraordinary achievements of orbiting and exploring protoplanet Vesta and dwarf planet Ceres, and advancing the nation's technological capabilities in pioneering new frontiers in space travel." The eight-foot trophy is on display at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C., and is engraved with the names of the recipients. The trophy is presented annually by the National Aeronautic Association (NAA).
