Northrop Grumman Elects Tom Jones Corporate Vice President and President, Aeronautics Systems; Janis Pamiljans to Retire

FALLS CHURCH, Va. – Oct. 13, 2020 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) announces that its board of directors has elected Tom Jones corporate vice president and president, Aeronautics Systems, effective January 1, 2021. Jones will succeed Janis Pamiljans, who has announced his intent to retire on February 26, 2021.

“Tom has consistently demonstrated his ability to lead complex businesses in the aerospace and defense industry," said Kathy Warden, chairman, chief executive officer and president, Northrop Grumman. “He is a seasoned executive and I am excited about the vision he has for our Aeronautics business.”

Pamiljans will continue as corporate vice president, reporting to Warden to support this transition and other company initiatives until his retirement.

Jones is currently sector vice president and general manager of Northrop Grumman’s Airborne Sensors & Networks division in the Mission Systems sector. This business delivers large-scale, mission-critical C4ISR systems and complex hardware and software products for airborne platforms, including many from the Aeronautics Systems sector. Previously, he led advanced technology and undersea systems businesses.

Jones has 30 years of experience in the aerospace and defense industry. He joined Northrop Grumman in 2011 from The Boeing Company. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Kansas State University.

Northrop Grumman Appoints Christine Zeitz General Manager, Asia Pacific Region

CANBERRA, Australia – July 16, 2020 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has appointed Christine Zeitz general manager for the Asia Pacific region, responsible for all aspects of program performance and strategic growth in Australia, Japan and South Korea.

Zeitz will report to Mary Petryszyn, corporate vice president and president, Defense Systems sector; and will partner with Northrop Grumman’s chief executives in the Asia Pacific region. Zeitz will be based in Canberra, Australia.

David Abney Joins Northrop Grumman Board of Directors

FALLS CHURCH, Va. – June 10, 2020 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) announced it has elected David Abney to its board of directors. Abney is the executive chairman of the UPS board of directors, and served as the chief executive officer of UPS from 2014 until May 2020.

FALLS CHURCH, Va. – Feb. 5, 2020 – The Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) board of directors has elected David F. Keffer corporate vice president and chief financial officer, effective Feb. 17, 2020. He will report to Kathy Warden, chairman, chief executive officer and president. Keffer will succeed Kenneth L. Bedingfield, who will remain with the company until Feb. 21, to facilitate a smooth transition.

Northrop Grumman Appoints Phyllis Schneck as Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer

FALLS CHURCH, Va. – Oct. 3, 2019 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has appointed Phyllis Schneck vice president and chief information security officer effective Oct. 14. Schneck will report to Shawn Purvis, corporate vice president and president, Northrop Grumman Enterprise Services.

In this role, Schneck will oversee Northrop Grumman’s global cybersecurity strategy and policies, and will be responsible the security of the company’s products, services and infrastructures.

“Phyllis’ extensive experience as a senior leader in many government and private-sector cybersecurity positions will contribute greatly to Northrop Grumman's capabilities in support of our nation's military and its global security mission,” said Purvis.

Most recently, Schneck led the cybersecurity practice at Promontory, an IBM company. Previously, she served as the deputy undersecretary for cybersecurity and communications for the Department of Homeland Security, where she led responses to cybersecurity threats against corporations, civilians and the government. During this time, she led the defensive cybersecurity operational mission to mitigate and respond to cyber threats across the federal civilian government and private sector.

Schneck also served as chief technology officer for the global public sector at McAfee, where she was responsible for products and services used by governments to counter global cyberthreats and maintain industrial and telecommunications security.

Schneck was a member of the Center for Strategic and International Studies Commission on Cybersecurity for the 44th Presidency. She was chairman of the board of directors of the National Cyber-Forensics and Training Alliance, and vice chairman of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s advisory board on information security and privacy. Schneck also served for eight years as national chairman of the board of directors of the FBI’s public-private InfraGard program. She holds several information-security and technology patents.

Schneck holds a Ph.D. in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, as well as both a master’s degree in computer science and a bachelor’s degree in computer science and mathematics from The Johns Hopkins University.

Northrop Grumman Announces Organization and Leadership Changes

FALLS CHURCH, Va. – Sept. 18, 2019 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) announces organization changes to its operating sectors to better align the company’s broad portfolio to serve its customers’ needs. There will be four operating sectors: Aeronautics Systems, Defense Systems, Mission Systems and Space Systems. The changes are effective Jan. 1, 2020.

“This new operating structure allows us to take full advantage of our company’s portfolio by aligning businesses that have shared markets, customers and technologies,” said Kathy Warden, chairman, chief executive officer and president of Northrop Grumman. “It will accelerate our ability to rapidly identify and deliver the technologies, products and services our customers need, and fuel our continued growth and execution.”

In addition, Patrick M. Antkowiak, corporate vice president and chief strategy and technology officer, and Christopher T. Jones, corporate vice president and president of Technology Services, have announced their intent to retire.

“Chris and Pat have made significant contributions to Northrop Grumman,” Warden said. “Their leadership and commitment to our company and our customers have been instrumental in laying the foundation for our future success. I want to sincerely thank them for their leadership.”

The four operating sectors will be:

Aeronautics Systems, an innovative manned and unmanned air system provider, with a proven track-record of systems engineering, manufacturing excellence and reliability. This sector will be led by Janis Pamiljans, current corporate vice president and president of Aerospace Systems.
Defense Systems, a broad-spectrum provider of critical technology services, sustainment and modernization, including integrated battle command systems, directed energy, tactical weapons and information systems, focused on evolving threats and quick-turn requirements for a wide variety of national security, military and civilian customers. The sector will be led by Mary Petryszyn, current vice president and general manager, Land & Avionics C4ISR, Mission Systems.
Mission Systems, a technology leader in open, cyber-secure, software-defined systems for defense and intelligence applications across multiple domains. This sector will be led by Mark Caylor, current corporate vice president and president of Mission Systems.
Space Systems, a space and launch systems provider serving national security, civil and commercial customers. Blake Larson, current corporate vice president and president of Innovation Systems, will lead the Space Systems sector.

The changes announced today are not expected to have a material impact on the company's 2019 financial results or guidance as updated in July 2019.

Northrop Grumman Appoints Todd Ernst as Vice President, Investor Relations

Ernst succeeds Steve Movius, who will continue to serve as corporate vice president and treasurer until his planned retirement in early 2020.

Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Ernst served as vice president of investor relations at GE. Previously, he was vice president of corporate development at Raytheon, and led investor relations for seven years. Ernst joined Raytheon in 2010 as director, competitive assessment for corporate strategy.

Ernst has also held senior positions at Balyasny Asset Management and Neuberger Berman, covering aerospace and defense and other industry sectors. Warden will serve as chairman, chief executive officer and president. Warden succeeds Wes Bush, who has served as chairman since July 2011. As previously announced, Bush will retire from the company and resign from the board on July 31, 2019. Donald E. Felsinger will continue to serve as the company’s lead independent director.

TOKYO – Feb. 19, 2019 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has appointed Om Prakash, chief executive, Northrop Grumman Japan, as the company strengthens its partnership with Japan. Prakash will report to Dave Perry, corporate vice president and chief global business officer.

“Om’s experience as a military officer and strategist makes him the ideal Northrop Grumman leader to advise our customers in Japan and expand our business,” said Kathy Warden, chief executive officer and president of Northrop Grumman.

As chief executive, Northrop Grumman Japan, Prakash will be responsible for ensuring effective performance on current programs, as well as developing in-country growth opportunities.

Prior to this role, Prakash was the director of corporate strategy for Northrop Grumman, where he helped shape the business portfolio and established the company as a thought leader in several technology areas. He conducted analyses of business initiatives and oversaw multiple strategic planning processes. Previously at Northrop Grumman, Prakash managed international business development.

Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Prakash, who is a retired U.S. Air Force colonel, held leadership positions at various levels in operations, training and developmental flight test. He worked directly for the Secretary and Chief of Staff of the Air Force developing strategy and policy. He also served as the principal military advisor to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manufacturing and Industrial Base Policy, covering matters related to mergers and acquisitions, and the preservation of essential industries and technologies. He was a fighter test pilot with over 3,000 hours in over 60 different aircraft.

Prakash earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he also studied Japanese language and culture. He earned a master’s degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a master’s in national security strategy from the National War College.

Previously, Deeble served for 37 years in the Australian Defence Force, most notably as an Air Vice-Marshal leading some of Defence’s most complex programs. He oversaw multiple programs such as the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF), Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning and Control, Multi Role Tanker Transport and the Navy Collins Class Submarine. During his time as JSF program manager, Deeble led the program through its final development phase, drove Australian industry outcomes and established the principles for the JSF global support solution. His performance in leading these complex programs was recognized in 2016 with the Officer of the Order of Australia award.

Deeble replaces interim chief executive, Warren King, who will continue in his role as the chairman of Northrop Grumman Australia’s Advisory Board.

2019 BEYA Legacy Award named after Chris Jones, Northrop Grumman corporate vice president and president, Northrop Grumman Technology Services

WASHINGTON D.C. – Feb. 12, 2019 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) employees Arik Brown and Kimberly Cross were honored at the Black Engineer of the Year Award (BEYA) science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) Global Competitiveness Conference held this weekend in Washington D.C. Thirteen Northrop Grumman employees were also recognized as BEYA Modern-Day Technology Leaders.

Arik Brown

Jones, a member of the company’s corporate policy council, leads a Northrop Grumman organization that is a recognized leader in integrated logistics; sustainment; modernization; defense, health, civil and government services; and training solutions. He was the named the Black Engineer of the Year at the 2016 BEYA conference. Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He earned two master’s degrees in aerospace engineering and engineering management from the University of Dayton, and a doctorate degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Maryland.

Brown, a consulting system architect in Northrop Grumman Mission Systems received a 2019 BEYA Industry Professional Achievement award, which goes to an experienced, mid-professional who has made significant advances in a STEM career and has served as a role model for others. He was named a Northrop Grumman Technical Fellow in 2018 and has authored many technical publications. He was a nominee for a 2011 BEYA Outstanding Technical Contribution award and a recipient of a 2008 BEYA Modern Day Technology Leader Award. He is an active STEM volunteer in his community. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a master’s and doctorate degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan.

Cross, a manager of systems survivability engineering in Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, received a 2019 BEYA Industry Most Promising Engineer award which is given to an early career professional who demonstrates tremendous potential for future technical contributions. She has authored technical publications and also given presentations. She is the advisory board chairperson of the western region of the National Society of Black Engineers. Cross earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of California Riverside, and a master’s and doctorate degree in chemical engineering from University of California Los Angeles.

Ryan corporate vice president, communications, effective Jan. 1, 2019. She will report to Kathy J. In her new role, Ryan will be responsible for the Corporation's worldwide communications strategy and execution, including media relations, employee communications, advertising, digital communications, executive communications and branding/corporate image.

Before joining General Dynamics, she worked for communications and advertising agencies in the Washington, D.C. area.

Prior to that he spent six years in the Royal Corps of Naval Constructors at the Ministry of Defence.

Northrop Grumman Announces CEO Transition

FALLS CHURCH, Va. – July, 12, 2018 – Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) chairman and chief executive officer Wes Bush announced today that he will step down from the position of chief executive officer effective Jan. 1, 2019. He will remain chairman through July 2019.

Northrop Grumman’s board of directors has elected Kathy Warden, the company’s president and chief operating officer, to the position of chief executive officer and president, effective Jan. 1, 2019. The board has also elected Warden to serve as a member of the board, effective immediately.

“I am delighted that Kathy will become our company’s next CEO,” said Bush. “She has demonstrated exceptional leadership in her roles leading the operations of our company, and she brings the vision and values to lead Northrop Grumman into the future.”

Northrop Grumman Appoints Gabrielle Batkin as Vice President of Legislative Affairs

FALLS CHURCH, Va. – April 9, 2018 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has appointed Gabrielle Batkin as vice president of legislative affairs, effective today. Batkin will report to Lesley Kalan, corporate vice president, government relations.

In her new role, Batkin leads the corporate legislative affairs organization and staff. She is responsible for implementing and overseeing all Northrop Grumman interactions with the U.S. Congress and related organizations, including the development of proactive activities to promote Northrop Grumman's legislative agenda and build legislative and policy coalitions.

"We are excited to welcome Gabrielle to our team,” said Kalan. “Gabrielle brings a wealth of experience from her management of several Senate committees and I look forward to her leadership as we work to ensure the Congress is informed about Northrop Grumman’s products and capabilities.”

Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Batkin served in senior staff positions on several Senate committees. Most recently, she served as the minority staff director for the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, which has jurisdiction over environmental protection and infrastructure issues.

Prior to that, Batkin served as the majority and minority staff director on the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, which has jurisdiction over homeland security, cybersecurity, government information technology, and the efficiency of all federal agencies. Batkin also served as the deputy staff director of the Senate Appropriations Committee, where she served for 13 years advising Senators and their staffs on funding and policy issues related to the federal budget.

Batkin earned her master’s degree in international affairs from George Washington University and her bachelor’s degree in international studies from Bradley University.

Northrop Grumman Appoints Yolanda Murphy Vice President of Communications for its Technology Services Sector; Alleace Gibbs to Lead Communications for the Mission Systems Sector

FALLS CHURCH, Va. – Dec. 20, 2017 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) announced today that Yolanda Murphy has been appointed vice president of communications for its Technology Services sector, succeeding Alleace Gibbs, who will now serve as vice president of communications for the company’s Mission Systems sector, effective Jan. 1, 2018. They will both report to Lisa Davis, corporate vice president of communications for Northrop Grumman.

In their new roles, Murphy and Gibbs will lead the communications teams of their respective sectors and will be responsible for the development, integration and implementation of a broad range of communications activities. Murphy will become a new member of Northrop Grumman’s Communications Council. Gibbs will remain a member of that leadership group.

“I am excited to welcome Yolanda and Alleace to their new positions,” said Davis. “They have been dedicated leaders, serving in various communications roles throughout the company and they bring extensive experience to their new positions.”

Murphy currently serves as the director of enterprise communications for Northrop Grumman’s Aerospace Systems sector and was previously the director of communications for the airborne C4ISR and space ISR systems division in the Mission Systems sector. She was also a manager of communications and public relations for the advanced concepts and technologies division in the company’s former Electronic Systems (ES) sector.

Gibbs is currently the vice president of communications for the company’s Technology Services sector. Previously she was director of employee communications in the company’s former ES sector. Gibbs has held a number of communications leadership roles during her career.

Alleace Gibbs will serve as vice president of communications for Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems sector, effective Jan. 1, 2018.

Murphy earned a bachelor of fine arts degree from the International Academy of Design and Technology and a master’s degree in communications from Johns Hopkins University..

Gibbs earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from Bowie State University and a master’s degree in of business administration from Morgan State University.

Northrop Grumman Appoints Warren King as Chair of its Newly Formed Australia Advisory Board

CANBERRA, Australia – Dec. 13, 2017 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) announced the appointment of Warren King, retired chief executive officer of the Australian Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO), as the chair of the newly formed Northrop Grumman Australia Advisory Board.

The Northrop Grumman Australia Advisory Board provides counsel on market dynamics and development strategies.

“Warren King offers our Northrop Grumman Australia Advisory Board a deep understanding of Australian defence business and strategy that will significantly add to the breadth of experience of our Australian team,” said David Perry, corporate vice president and chief business development officer, Northrop Grumman, and president, Northrop Grumman International Trading.

“I welcome Warren as the chair of our Advisory Board,” said Ian Irving, chief executive officer, Northrop Grumman Australia. “He possesses a wealth of leadership, experience and expertise across technical disciplines and the Australian and international defence markets. King has an extensive international defense background with over 35 years of experience in the defense sector, including 20 years of service with the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), where he specialised in combat systems engineering and completed posts in the United States and the United Kingdom. After serving in the RAN, King held a variety of senior managerial positions ranging from small Australian enterprises to large multinational corporations.

King was appointed chief executive officer of the DMO (now the Defence Capability and Sustainment Group) in 2012, where he served until his retirement in 2015.

King earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of New South Wales. In 2015 he was awarded the U.S. Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service, in recognition of his service and contribution to the success of the U.S.-Australian alliance. King is also a member of Northrop Grumman’s international advisory board.

Predaina received the Emerging Leader Award at the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) annual conference held this weekend in Austin, Texas. SWE advocates for change for women in engineering and its annual awards program recognizes innovators and leaders who are supporting the enrichment and advancement of women in engineering.

Previously she led teams through complex engineering problems in hardware design and manufacturing; software; technology research and development; systems integration; engineering process improvement; mission assurance; and multi-national global security programs.

Predaina is active in Northrop Grumman employee resource groups, is the executive sponsor of the global Northrop Grumman Women’s International Network and has mentored many engineering students and young professionals. She had a feature role in DiscoverE’s Girl Day national social media campaign during National Engineers Week. Predaina is a life member of SWE and was a catalyst for sponsoring hundreds of SWE memberships at Northrop Grumman.

She earned bachelor’s degrees in computer science, and astrophysical and planetary sciences from the University of Colorado, and a master’s degree in engineering management from George Washington University.

Northrop Grumman Appoints Dong Ha as Chief Executive for South Korea

SEOUL and FALLS CHURCH, Va. – Oct. 26, 2017 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has appointed Dong Ha as chief executive for South Korea. In this position he will be responsible for coordinating the corporation's relationship with South Korea, supporting current programs and growing the company’s in-country presence.

Prior to joining Northrop Grumman Ha completed a 27-year career in the U.S. Army, retiring as a colonel. In his last military assignment he served as the chief, Joint U.S. Military Affairs Group-Korea from 2009-2014. During that assignment he was responsible for the management of all U.S. Government military sales and defense security cooperation activities with the Republic of Korea.

”Dong brings a deep understanding of South Korea’s global security challenges to this leadership position,” said David Perry, corporate vice president and chief global business development officer, Northrop Grumman. ”I look forward to Dong leading our in-country team to position the company for future success in South Korea.”

Ha earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial management technology from Middle Tennessee State University and a master’s degree in national security affairs with an emphasis in Asian studies from the Naval Postgraduate School. His military education includes the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the Senior Overseas Defense Institute for Security Assistance Management Course. Ha was also the second U.S. military officer to be selected for a Senior Service College fellowship at the Korea National Defense University.
